Welcome!

This is my first post, so bear with me!

I have had a very nice weekend! Tom and I really had nothing planned for Friday night, we were planning on staying home and relaxing. About 3:30, a friend of mine (Laurie) that I worked at St. Elizabeth's with text me saying she had an extra ticket to the Rascal Flatts concert and would I like to go. Um, heck yes! I made sure Tom was ok with wrangling the girls solo for the evening (which, of course he was), and I got ready to go. It was so good to see Laurie and catch up with her. I miss working with her so much! We had lawn seat tickets, and you really couldn't have asked for a better night for the concert. It was probably about 80 degrees with a nice breeze. Chris Young and Kellie Pickler opened up for them. I have never seen Rascal Flatts in concert before but the sure didn't disappoint! Great concert! It was about 1:30 when this mama got home, yeah...not used to staying out that late anymore!
Laurie and I at Rascal Flatts!
Saturday morning ended up being a lazy day, which was quite alright with me. The girls napped decently, which I was glad. We took them to the Waterloo Homecoming parade in their new stroller. It may look big, but the girls really looked comfortable in it and it was so easy to push. When I was comparing it to some of the other double strollers I saw out there, I'm really glad we spent a little extra and got the Valco stroller. The girls did ok at the parade for about the first 100 floats or so. At the beginning, when the fire trucks were coming down the street Tessa would just laugh and laugh when they would blow their horns. Well, the closer they got, and the louder they got, she decided that she didn't really care for them anymore. After they passed though, they were both content. Like I said, they were done after about 100 floats (and truthfully, I was too), so we packed up and headed towards my mom and dad's.
Tessa is ready for the parade, Avery, not so much
It was crazy the amount of stuff we packed to bring down there so the girls could spend the night! Sheesh, the poor Equinox was probably like, "what the heck?!?" Two bouncers, the extra pack-n-play, the sound machine, three sets of onesies, two sleep sacks, 2 bibs, 4 burp cloths, 8 bottles, two cans of formula, two carseats...oh yeah, and two kids. Thank goodness my mom has her own stash of diapers and wipes! We left there at about 8pm or so to head out to Adam and Nikki's. It was our annual August Birthdays Party. There are 5 of us that all have birthdays within 2 weeks of each other, so every year we throw a big ol' party. It was a good time! This was the first time I drank my old signature drink (Southern Comfort and Pepsi) since I had the girls. I outlasted many people out there (including Tom), because we didn't end up getting to bed until close to 3am! I guess staying out until 1:30 the night before helped out.
I just have to add this picture of Tom at the end of the night.
He is trying to text someone, and I guess it's just easier when you're
drunk with your phone two inches from your face.
I told Tom I wanted to sleep till noon, and no one better wake me up. I didn't think that would actually happen though! Tom comes into the room at 11:30 asking if I was going to sleep all day. I seriously thought I would sleep until 9-9:30 max. I guess my body just needed the sleep. It was so weird getting ready without the girls there. It just seemed too quick and too easy. We were both ready, and we're just standing there for a second enjoying the fact that we don't have to get the girls ready, get bottles ready, pack the diaper bag, pack the car, etc. We could just...leave! We picked the girls up from my mom and dad's and headed to Tom's cousin Dawn's little boy Ian's first birthday party. It makes me so excited for planning the girls' first birthday! I hope it's not too cool yet in April that we can't have it outside. He got A LOT of nice gifts! It's so crazy how quick they grow up.

I hope everyone has a great week! I'm off to bed!
